COVID-19 UPDATE Hello RASA Families, As the situation surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak changes by the day, the RASA board would like to update you and present the options for carrying out the remainder of the spring season based on state and local government recommendations. As our website and Facebook page state, the playing fields at Veteran’s Park are closed until further notice. The open grass areas and walking trails will remain open for exercise purposes, but we encourage proper social distancing practices when in use. Our postponed work day scheduled for 4/4 will once again be re-scheduled for a later date. Opening Day on 4/18 is cancelled, and we are hoping to re-schedule as soon as possible. There will be ongoing discussions about a potential condensed season, and incorporating our special events, including the All-Star game, Home Run Derby, and playoff games in that time. We encourage players to continue sharpening their skills and send us pictures to share. Please be safe and follow all recommended guidelines. The following three (3) items are required for all RASA volunteers: 1) Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record: This document can be obtained online at https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp 2) Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance: This document can be obtained online at https://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS/Public/Home 3) A copy of your Driver’s License showing your current address (must match the address on both of your background checks) The online background checks are currently offered online for free. Criminal History and Child Abuse records are considered valid for 5 years. However, copies of all three (3) of these forms will need to be provided to RASA once a year.
